Two phrases everyone is familiar to without exception we have for so long heard, come suddenly upon our ears or read them in daily newspapers, facile on the tongue, light in the scale, not in the scale of justice, but in the scale of politics especially in contemporary politics, which have become the focus and attraction point of most people dreaming of power, irrespective of their cultural, academic, social and intellectual level, and who, by the will of fate, have been set in advanced positions of responsibility. Actually, we can see the translation of that fact in Arab societies at large and Iraqi society in particular, especially after the politicians sitting on the seats of power in Iraq, in particular, are divested of all authorities even in their speeches before the media and they just receive orders and instructions from their masters stationed in other countries more influential in the region, so they can see with their own eyes the people who are killed, displaced and dislodged, women widowed and children orphaned, sanctities violated and territories occupied, while they do not budge at all except for the mere use of some verbal and rhetoric phrases that neither nourish nor avail against hunger, and stand idly with hands folded fearing for their positions, golden thrones and personal interests indifferent to the injured homeland condition, whatever circumstances and risks besetting it were. So, when those politicians will be able to achieve their independence away from any external influence, and stand up in the face of rogue tyrants and put an end to their actions and expansionist dreams; when they will be eligible for those positions and measure up to the expectation of whom have placed their lives and necks in their hands, and maintain the sanctity of the country that has confided them, and when will come that patriotic honest man, who is becoming rarer and more precious at this time, to deliver the Iraqis from the dark valley they were forcibly placed in, and the bitter reality forced upon them all through the past period of their lives, and to fold that black page away from their memory and forever…
