Statement on the occasion of the victorious Egyptian Revolution

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

(Allah does not change a people's lot unless they change what is in their hearts)
God almighty has spoken the truth

We have lived yesterday a good lesson in the way the people can design their future and impose their will, where our brothers, sisters and young people in Egypt have set an example to the whole world, an example to nations which decide to make a change, and an example to peoples who want to skip over the barriers of repression, oppression, persecution and deprivation, and we, in the CNU have but to salute and congratulate our people's revolution in Egypt, and we do encourage the youth of Egypt land who made and led the change with determination and blood …and on this occasion, we call on the leaders and wise men thereof to invest this interim stage to transit the country through a secure democratic regime everyone is entitled to its national rights and to take into account the hopes and aspirations of the Egyptian people for a free and decent life.

However, the message sent over by the Egyptian people has crossed the borders of Egypt to knock the hearing of the whole Arab people from the Gulf to the Ocean, a message entitled: change and conscious openness to all people classes and not trespassing the ambitions and needs of young people.

Here, we should not miss to call the government of premier Nouri al-Maliki to avail from the experiences sorted out by both Egyptian and Tunisian people and urge it faithfully to speed up in answering the Iraqis demands in improving the services and advancing the reality of ration card, creating employment opportunities to recruit the unemployed youth and embarking on the development of programs that would secure improvement in electric power status, and initiating a package of social reforms; furthermore, we call upon the government to find out new mechanisms, whether governmental or quasi-governmental to care for orphans and widows, and we all feel confident that the government of Mr. Maliki will be faithful to its electoral approach and to Iraqi citizen who is looking for a lot of things there from.

God stand by good intention
Dr. Nehru Mohammad Abdel Kareem
Chief of CNU
