Security fallback or a setback

Unfortunately, blood days are on the increase in Baghdad with the approach of the next elections date, while messages sent by the forces standing behind these savage attacks are quite numerous, clearly perceived by Iraqi street however the parties of political process have tried to disguise  or jump over the facts of those messages, the gist of those messages is that: terrorism has not faded away in Iraq, but let us not go that far in analysis and drawing lessons from these events, to hint to matters that should be admitted by the parties of political process, government and opposition, which is that the billions already squandered on the military, police and security apparatuses in the form of training, arming and outfits have come to nothing, and as the folk Arab says (requital is His and from Him), and as such arguments and speculations will not avail who defends the military, police and security apparatuses, for terrorism is still beating whenever and however it wanted! Remarkably, a series of sporadic bombings across Baghdad, east and west, occurs simultaneously in precise timing signifying and indisputably that the enemy is indifferent to all security fortifications and checkpoints which burdened the Iraqi street only, and those checkpoints did not help on the bloody Tuesday but only thru doubling the number of blasts' victims due to crowding at these loathsome checkpoints.

Indeed, not in defense of the government when we say plainly that those terrorist attacks on any weekday, Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, would have to occur no matter what are the names in power and control, so if he was Zeid or Amro this will not change the fortune in any way because the plight of Iraq is deeper and greater than names, and Iraq crisis, in fact the Iraqi state, is not that of statesmen but a grave structural crisis that threatens the very existence of Iraq as an entity, and the first thing the citizen must realize that he is not secure against terrorist or criminal attacks however is said or rumored about the strong grip of security apparatuses, their influence and ability to defeat terrorism, for the Iraqi citizen has become an easy target for terrorism and criminal operations hat have escalated in intensity and the media did not spotlight properly owing to being busy with covering terrorist attacks and political dilemmas in the parliament and government which are innumerable  and therefore his main concern must have become how to defend himself and avert as much as possible the presence in loosely secured areas, this is not a matter of propaganda for the terrorists or to undervalue the governmental measures but out of concern for the safety of Iraqi citizenry because it is not merely the responsibility of government but also a humanitarian responsibility incumbent upon all citizens living the plights of this country.

However, what happened in those bloody days, and even though it is a kind of genocide, yet and at the same time the event revealed many facts before the eyes of Iraqi citizen about the effectiveness and ability of the security apparatuses and about the flaws, as we have hinted, a structural defect reflected even on the culture of power and opposition together, for the authority is indifferent to what is happening, while the opposition is trying to exploit those tragedies and invest them to their advantage not caring a bit about the suffering of citizenry, for the sectarian compass is dictating the directions and paths of all parties of the political process, but even from outside the political process albeit they try to disguise the sectarian character of their organizations, however, we do not want to become like those who have not ceased to call for dispelling the sectarianism,  but we wanted to say that we are concerned about the existence of Iraq as an entity and about the Iraqi human as a structure if such imperfection should go on without true rectification, not merely patching or consensual remedy, but a treatment  that would live up to the size of tragedy, recall the suffering of the Iraqi citizen and his drama, not the interests of political groups and their privileges, a curing that would  ensure uncovering the facts concealed from the citizen, unveiling the murderers and foes of the citizen, whoever and wherever was until the morning of a new day shines - may God protect you my beloved Baghdad.
