Statement about the Iranian infringement on Iraqi oil

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Early on this month of February, the current Foreign Ministry announced about a continuous Iranian infringement on Iraqi oil fields located near the borders with Iran. This was augmented by statements from the current Board of Integrity in which it emphasized the presence of documents indicative of Iran control over (15) oil wells in al-Tayyeb region, Maysan governorate, and its using of inclined drilling to mine oil from inside Iraq.

At a time when Iraqis were waiting the current officials to act more carefully, it appeared that these officials are defending Iran in public and keeping it off from being charged. Yet, and more seriously is that some ministers who are not originally involved   in oil file stated that those fields are common with Iran, and coordination must be made with Iran thru mutual committees to develop production plans, and in a grave step in moving to create a proper atmosphere to surrender them. Meanwhile, the concerned minister denied this news, and as such, discrediting official reports issued from the Ministry of Oil itself and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well.

However, as the CINU condemns this wasting of public money, it confirms that robbing the oil of Iraq is a crime, and these flagrant infringements on Iraqi rights and resources must be stopped altogether. It also calls for the formation of specialized committees in the UN to intervene in this issue, and monitor precisely what has been illicitly taken to demand a claim later.
