The Secretary-General Dialogue with AlSabah newspaper

Dr. Nahro Mohammad AbdulKarim Alkasnazan Alhuseini, the Secretary General of the CINU, stated that the next elections will be the right first step on the way to national independence, civil and economic stability if given a reasonable degree of credibility and integrity, indicating that elections is the ideal way to cope with the conditions and new developments on the Iraqi reality in place of the abominable violence.

He said, that if the elections were successful we will be driven out of the bottle in which we are detained for long decades; however, the CINU was among the first in advocating such elections and was fully prepared to run it… yet, in spite of that, it should be stated that elections timing is not a sacred date and a redline should not be overridden if this overstepping was in favor of the public interest and contributed to reinforcing the national unity and corroborating the cohesion between the Iraqi people spectra, and I see that some of the calls made to postpone the elections are valid; then he added, after it became apparent that the general trend is for holding the elections as scheduled as passed by the provisional administration code: we emphasized that participation of all is a must, for they should have a clear imprint in drafting the Iraqi permanent constitution which the National Assembly will assume its drafting, and I should advise that standing on the mound watching the events from a distance is not good for any class or group, and in the result will not serve the public good because non-participation by any party will in the end contend the credibility of the entire elections.
And to a question on the participation of the CINU independent from other parties… Dr. Nahro Mohammad AbdulKarim said that:

These elections are difficult test thru which the real size of each political party will show up and that pre-election alliances are misrepresentation of the facts, and we, in terms of self-confidence, a confidence supported by the fact of our firm presence that extends from south to north of the country, are betting on running of this experience poised on our national weight, people accepting of our ideas especially that the core of our alliance ideology is based on gathering the national composition in one pot, this pivot has spared us to make up for the shortage experienced by the majority of parties which are divided between racial, religious or doctrinal lines.

On the subject of political scheme of the CINU, Dr. Nahro said that:

The first and most important step we would like to realize on the ground is to build the Iraqi human being, free him from restrictions of despair and despondency that accompanied him all through decades ago, and this is the general framework that can be reflected thru restoration of security and stability, and this can be achieved thru diagnosing the reasons that led to what we are suffering from now provided that it should not be in isolation from caring about economic affairs and improving the standard of living, scientific and health level of the Iraqi person, and eradicating unemployment, rehabilitating infrastructures of water, electricity, fuel and others. And on the position of the CINU from Baathists issue, Dr. Nahro Mohammed AbdulKarim clarified that:
If we were truly earnest in the building of a cohesive fraternal society, painful pages must be done with and each one of us must excuse the other, and the Baathists issue must be considered thru this mirror, as not all the Baathists are involved in the crimes perpetrated by the former regime, on the otherwise, the majority of them was helpless, and facts indicate they are an asset for universities, schools  or governmental  departments as their accrued expertise can be availed of  after they are well re-integrated into our new society.
