Education and future of Iraq

Since the first moments of political change in Iraq, the CINU has allocated a group of top specialists in the sector of education, in order to monitor and pursue what will face this important sector of changes and what will receive of impacts at all intellectual, technical, psychological, and economic levels and other aspects in direct relation with instructional process from all sides. This directive was issued at a time when concern and attention were not concentrated, in the whole country, but on political and military variables and security situation and what associated with that of total turnaround in all aspects of life in Iraq, and this goes back to the strategic long-term view of the CINU secretariat after having generalized that all events and variables are coming eventually to an end, and that must not  distract us away from our invariables of which due attention should be given to education in the first place, being the cornerstone on which the civilizations of nations and peoples are erected, and thru it the present and future of the country will be identified in whole. However, during the past years the entrusted commission performed its tasks and continued in monitoring, following-up, reporting, surveying and raising recommendations about every single item, and the CINU secretariat gave it due constant care, and what was arrived at in aggregate is that the course of education in Iraq is moving downward and the size of problem is getting bigger and more exacerbated day after day like a snow ball falling from the high mountain top down to the valley bottom.

The CINU secretariat wished, like all other Iraqi people, that the situation will improve, and the level of downfall will come to a stop to re-start a new ascent towards highness, but days and years went by and the situations became more and more exacerbated, as not the Governing Council, the Provisional Law of State Administration, the Interim Government, the National Assembly, Constitution, Parliament and lastly the government could make a hair’s breadth difference to education tragic reality … so, shall we continue to remain patient and keep quiet? And for how long?

We may not invent something new in talking about the state of affairs all members of the nation lived through uninterruptedly, nevertheless, and as something may call to mind another, we will present slight portion of what our specialist committees have diagnosed in this regard, then present the Iraqi people our vision that could be truly named the urgent (national salvage plan of education), through which we call upon all people to rise up along with us with their votes to start an immediate implementation of the plan if we wanted to our beloved Iraq soar again in the spaces of knowledge and sciences which it had been heading over the long history of human civilizations.
